Provincetown Town Hall Recognized with Awards by VSA and IESNA

May 2012: The Victorian Society in America recognized the Provincetown Town Hall with a 2012 Preservation Award for the restoration/renovation of the 1886 municipal landmark at a special ceremony in San Antonio, Texas in May. The Illuminating Society of North America also recognized the Town Hall with two lighting awards, a Regional Design Award and the Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award for Interior Lighting, IESNA by the Boston/RI Section.

The Provincetown Town Hall underwent a comprehensive interior and exterior restoration from 2008-2010 that involved structural and exterior envelope repairs, programmatic and accessibility improvements and the restoration of character defining elements throughout the building, including the Auditorium. Restoration of the Auditorium ceiling, molding profiles and lighting was based on historic photographic evidence. The paint scheme was determined from paint analysis. McGinley Kalsow led the team of talented consultants that restored the building.
