|Provincetown Public Library Recognized with Preservation Award
May 2012: The Provincetown Public Library was recognized by the Massachusetts Historical Commission with a 2012 Preservation Award on a special ceremony at the Mass Archives on May 30. The library was built in 1860 as the Center Methodist Episcopal Church and is in the National Place of Historic Places.
MKA led the team of consultants that worked on the comprehensive restoration of the exterior fašade including reconstructing previously removed architectural elements, carpentry repairs and exterior painting; replacement of flanking entry doors; and rebuilding of foundation. The work is a completion of ongoing efforts over the last decade to restore the building to its original grandeur.
