McGinley Kalsow & Associates receives 2006 Award for Excellence in Design from NYC Art Commission

July, 2006: McGinley Kalsow & Associates, along with Pressley Associates and URS Corporation, received the 2006 Award for Excellence in Design from the New York City Art Commission. The award was for their role in developing a Historic Inventory and Master Design Plan for the Shore Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, a Robert Moses 1939 historic parkway in the Art Deco style. MKA conducted an inventory of 13 historic bridges and the only remaining gasoline station and developed appropriate design guidelines for all structures to preserve the integrity of the historic parkway. MKA also developed specific plans and details for seven highway bridges and three pedestrian bridges. Mayor Michael Bloomberg personally presented the awards at the recently completed Morgan Library & Museum.
