  Gloucester City Hall Recognized with Preservation Award

May 2016: Gloucester City Hall was recently recognized with a 2016 Preservation Award by the Massachusetts Historical Commission. The City of Gloucesterís efforts for the last 10 years to preserve their historic City Hall through multiple projects including the restoration of the tower, roof, cornice, accessibility improvements and the Works Progress Administration murals in the City Hallís interior walls, has been outstanding. McGinley Kalsow has been honored to work with the city to restore this historic building built in 1870 and sitting prominently on a hill overlooking the harbor. The building was designed by the prestigious Boston architectural firm of J.F. Bryant and Louis P. Rogers. The Cityís dedication to the restoration of this important resource and its contents has been driven by a shared belief in preservation, commitment, and a strong sense of stewardship.
