|MKA Recognized by BSA for Restoration of Gasson Hall
January 2013: McGinley Kalsow & Associates was recognized by the Boston Society of Architects for the restoration of the iconic Gasson Hall at Boston College at the 2012 Design Awards formal Gala on January 31, 2013. MKA was one of fifteen finalist selected under the Design Excellence Category and receiving a citation for technical merit. Gasson Hall was built from 1909-1913 in the Gothic Revival style to the design of noted Boston architects Maginnis and Walsh. MKA led the multi-phased restoration with the initial phase focusing on restoring the masonry and roofs of the 175- foot landmark tower. The second phase focused on restoring the lower four floors of the building and providing full accessibility. In addition this phase also addressed landscaping and façade lighting of the site and structure.
